Kelsey Creek Residence
5 Beds / 5 Baths / 4600 SQFT
Wilburton / Bellevue
Completed in 2024
Architect: Stephenson Design Collective
The family of five needs an upgrade from their 2000 sqft house. Our team helped them find this property in the desirable Wilburton neighborhood and built their dream home. The property is only steps away from Kelsey Creek Farm, a great area to raise kids. The cladding of the house is designed using Shou Sugi Ban siding, charred Japanese cedar, for preservation, easy maintenance and weatherproofing, which also gives a unique character to the house. To make the house less prominent in this quiet neighborhood, architect breaks the house into several volumes and stacks them in different height and depth. Interior of the house features 17’ high ceiling in main living area, and 21’ in dining room, floor to ceiling vertical windows breaks up the massive interior walls and also bringing in defused light from north side into living area. Another unique feature is the floating staircase that is structurally designed to have each treads sticking out from the wall without stringer to support from below, which becomes the center piece of the house. There are many other details including corten steel planters, plunge pool/jacuzzi combo, Ipe decking, custom metal shelves, German cabinetry, Italian wardrobe system, smart home automation, Lutron lighting control, security system and automated shades…etc. The house is thoughtfully designed to fit the family’s needs both in style and function.
